Questions to ask a restoration company before you hire
Can you handle this work in my area?
Describe the damage, city and property type. Ask whether the company provides that specific service, whether it uses subcontractors and when someone can actually respond. A listed service area is not a live dispatch promise.
Who will manage the project?
Ask for a named point of contact, how progress updates work and who handles questions when the crew leaves. Ask how photographs, measurements and changes to the work will be documented.
What am I authorizing?
Request a written scope, pricing basis, payment schedule and process for approving changes. Ask which services are included and which require a separate contractor. Read the agreement before authorizing work.
What can I verify independently?
Ask for current business insurance, any licensing required for the work and credentials relevant to the job. Verify them with the issuer or relevant authority. Ask for references from comparable projects. Directory membership is not a substitute for these checks.
How does this directory order companies?
Sponsored placements are a ClaimControl membership benefit and are labeled. General results include nonmembers and are alphabetic. Compare suitability yourself; placement does not certify workmanship or guarantee availability.
