A phone click is not a confirmed appointment. Keep any written authorization and estimate from the company.

Before calling

When safe, note your city, property type, affected rooms and when you first noticed the problem. Do not enter an unsafe area to gather details. Keep your exact address and claim information between you, your insurer and the company you choose.

Confirm the fit

Ask the company to confirm your exact address, the damage it handles and its current response window. A published emergency number is not live availability. Ask whether it provides mitigation, repairs or both, and whether subcontractors are involved.

Ask what you are authorizing

Request a written scope, assessment or call-out fees, itemized estimate, payment terms and the process for approving changes. Ask who documents moisture and drying and who will be your named contact. The company and insurer must answer questions about your own property or coverage.

Verify before choosing

Ask for current insurance and any locally required license. Verify claimed certifications with the issuer; certification is not a government license. Ask for comparable project references and rights-cleared job examples. Sponsored placement does not verify these facts.
